| Canadians know a thing or two about cold weather, so it’s not surprising they were behind one of the most popular cold-weather boots ever created. Sorel - founded in Kitchener, Ontario, in 1908 - is perhaps best known for the ubiquitous Caribou, a boot that pioneered the use of a unique material that reflected heat back to the foot. Love the ease of on/off for those quick trips outside for mail, paper, etc. Love Them!!
By Active Mom from Carmel, IN on 11/29/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: After Skiing/Snowboarding, Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My husband has had a pair of Sorel boots for a long time (we're talking 15 years or more) that he wears to shovel snow or play in the snow with the kids, and I've often slipped them on to go to the mailbox when we've got snow, and so I assumed that these would be as heavy as his are. They are not, they are light, easy to put on and take off, and incredibly warm. The only drawback, if you can call it that, is that they are better for running around and doing errands in the cold or snowy weather than for trying to look cute indoors- they're almost too warm for hanging out indoors, especially if it's warm inside!
