These socks do have a definite seam, but it doesn't hurt me. The seam looks less prominent than that on other socks I own, and that may be the reason. Whatever the reason, it is a wonderful feature and makes a world of difference.

I have done the same with other brands of socks with the same results. These socks are not padded which is what I need for most of the time as I wear these for cycling and with casual clothing. The only problem I noted with this brand is inconsistent seaming by the toe. Some seams are nice and flat while others aren't. Word to the wise, try on every pair you order.
