Poles feel quite sturdy for how extremely light they are. They are about 1/3- 1/2 the weight of my aluminum poles. The foam grips are a little hard, not as comfortable as rubber, but just something to get used to. The locking system feels secure. Not trail tested yet, just initial observation. I never had my old poles over 125 cm so I purchased the compact(women's) version for the shorter collapsed length.
