Good easy-terrain light hiker By Alex from Chicago, IL on 11/04/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've taken the shoes out for a weekend geological outing in Iowa and they held up great. They're sturdy, and stiffer and higher than most low top hikers. I love the rubber rand, especially because the upper is synthetic suede (which is what I knocked one star off for) and I'm not sure how great that would hold up without the tough surround. The upper sheds water at first but upon my return I went ahead and treated them with water proofer. The stability in these is great and lends itself to agility in flatter terrain like the Midwest. Very comfortable right out the box, with a great climbing shoe look.

very sturdy but not clunky By izzy from state college PA on 05/20/2008 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Stable Describe Yourself: Alternative, Stylish, Trendy Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: very stable shoe that doesn't weigh you down at all. Very comfortable, although there isn't much arch support in the removable inner sole (so I just replaced it). Stealth rubber is amazingly grippy, so you can scramble over rocks with no problem. Great approach shoe, great for hiking.
Doesn't like other Vasque Hikers By mushroomer from Sonoma County California on 04/21/2008 Pros: Durable, Stable, Well made Best Uses: Casual Wear, Trail and off trail hikes Describe Yourself: Longtime off-trail hiker Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I have enjoyed Vasque boots for years and have always had a comfortable fit with the same size (8.5) These felt long enough but toes felt confined. Otherwise would be good for casual hikes on uneven terrain, if ankle support is not an issue. I have a wide foot
Nice Stealth Rubber; Runs Small By Roadrash from Albuquerque on 12/02/2007 Cons: Footbed Hard, Toe box is flat Describe Yourself: Gearhead Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a nice low hiker with good stealth rubber and burly rubber rands for toe protection. The toebox is tapered down, however, so that the shoe feels too short by a full size. I also think the shoe does not provide any cushioning in the footbed.
