By Harley Chic from Kalispell on 11/17/2008 Pros: Arch Support, Durable, Great Traction, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Everyday, Mixed Terrain, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Daily walker, Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This shoe was great right out of the box. I ordered a half size larger to fit my orthotics and I'm glad I did. I walk every day rain, snow or shine and these shoes are light and have fabulous traction.
By shoelvr from long beach, ca on 11/13/2008 Pros: Arch Support, Great Traction Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These were too large. I am an 8 and ordered that size and they were swimming on my feet. They were a bit stiffer than I expected, so returned them and am trying a different brand.
By doglover from Mocksville, NC on 11/11/2008 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great looking, true to size as ordered. I have worn them for 2 twelve hour shifts and am generally satisfied however the sole is stiffer than most shoes I have worn in this category. Another reviewer had noted the side design support rubbed her feet and I have found the same thing. This was rectified with the use of felt inside the shoe in 2 places. I have always worn Merrells in the past and will return to them, they are MUCH superior.
By Rosebud from South Dartmouth, MA on 11/08/2008 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker, Trail Jogger Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I literally just took these shoes off after walking a rocky beach for an hour! These shoes ROCK! They are comfortable, durable and I can walk literally on any surface but prefer using them to trail walk or walk on uneven terrain. The traction is outrageous and I would highly recommend this shoe to anyone who enjoys being outside hiking, walking or just needs a good, stable shoe!
Love'em ..... own two pairs now! By snowflake from Talbott, Tennessee on 11/07/2008 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: Everyday, Grass, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Everyday use, and trails in our state park.
Very comfortable, true to size, good for wide feet. I also use them at work in a hospital lab.
I have purchased 2 pairs so far.
Great for the trails but not on my feet! By Cath from Richmond, VA on 11/07/2008 Pros: Great Traction, Stabilizes Foot Cons: Not Comfortable, Not flexible, Poor Cushioning Best Uses: Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Familiar with this brand; tried really hard to "break them in" as I really don't like returning items. However, each time I wore them I couldn't wait to take them off. I finally tried an old pair of trail shoes that felt so much better that I decided right then and there to return this pair.
By coyote from crested butte, Co on 10/01/2008 Pros: After break in awesome, Arch Support, Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Cons: Took a little break in Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Everyday, I love these shoes, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Distance hiker, Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I reach for these over all my other hiking boots/shoes again and again because I know they are comfortable and have taken me miles..comfortable and dry quickly. Wear well and retain their shape. One day this summer I went 13 miles in them, no pain and they are still going strong. They have crossed many creeks and streams, dried out and still are fine.
