Sweet, but needs more int. adjustments By nwendeavor from Seattle, Washington on 06/20/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Padding Dries Quickly Cons: Bulky, Not Well Ventilated Describe Yourself: Aggressive Rider Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The Bern Baker Helmet is of pretty good quality with a nice overall look and feel. It came with removable ear flaps for added warmth and protection. STP's sale price makes this a very good deal.
My primary use is whitewater/ocean kayaking and playing in rockgardens with my seakayak.
The prior post that states these are sized too big is incorrect. This fits my head perfectly - so much so that there is no room to add any neoprene headgear for those cold weather days. It would be nice if it had removable/adjustable padding to accommodate this. I may end up having to file down some of the interior padding...
Good looking, nice fitting helmet By Brianth from MIlwaukee, WI on 06/04/2008 Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Good Ventilation, Padding Dries Quickly Describe Yourself: Recreational Rider Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I didn't want to spend a mint on a kayak helmet. This one manages to be good looking AND inexpensive. I bought the black one. The only downside is that the matte black material shows scrapes and smudges easily.
By Grrrrrr19 from DC on 05/20/2008 Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable Best Uses: Boarding, Water Sports Describe Yourself: Recreational Rider Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: better than the low end pro-tec ace helmet by far.
nice helmet sizing a bit off By sky from oregon on 09/11/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Padding Dries Quickly Cons: Not Well Ventilated, Poor Fit Best Uses: Boarding, Boating, Water Sports Describe Yourself: Recreational Rider Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: according to my head size I should have fit into a large, but it was way too big, tried a med, too big also, finally got a small, and it fits well. Nicely constructed helmet, shades the sun well a bit warm with no vents but I haven't tried it in the river yet.
