By Laureninmtns from Eagle, CO on 10/28/2008 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Everyday, Grass, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Trail Jogger Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I usually wear a 9N but ordered a 9 1/2 in this shoe. It fit perfectly out of the box, with a roomy toe box. Every time we go hiking, I keep remarking every hour about how good my feet feel. I had broken my middle toe before buying the shoe, but really wanted a backpacking trip. The rubber toe box protected my toes so well that even after 10 miles and lot's of scrambling with a 35 lb. pack, my feet felt great. I want another pair of these!
By hiking in canada from Van Island, BC on 06/21/2008 Pros: Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes seem to have great quality and are very solid, but I have not really been able to use them. I had to give them to a friend beacuse they were a full size too big. I usually wear a size 7 shoe and order the size 7 , buthey felt like a size 8...way too big. :( oh well i just order the pategonia shoes hopefully with better luck.

By Hiker Harriet from Portland, OR on 04/28/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm reluctant to buy shoes on line but Sierra Trading Post's exchange/return system is so user-friendly! I took the recommendation to order 1/2 size smaller and they fit perfectly. We just got back from a muddy, wet hike in the Gorge and I got great traction and support from these shoes. Not really sure exactly how water resistant they are meant to be, but my feel stayed nice and dry in some really wet condions.
