Good for climbing over rocks! By Mountain Mom from Nevada City, CA on 06/05/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered a half-size larger than my usual size and it was perfect. These shoes are best with a pair of midweight socks and then they are really comfortable. Perfect for day hikes over rocks such as we see often here in the northern Sierra Nevada.

Best walking shoes I've ever had By Nancy M. from Ontario on 02/25/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Best Uses: Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have tried dozens of pairs of walking shoes over the years and I always end up giving them away because they hurt. I bought these shoes while on holiday in Newfoundland and walked all over St. John's hilly streets in cold, wet weather. They were fabulous from day one. I've just bought three more pairs.
Didn't care for this shoe By Walks a lot at work from Salt Lake City on 02/24/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I returned this shoe after purchasing it in 1/2 size larger as suggested. The length seemed okay but I have a narrow foot and there was a little too much room in the toe area, plus the shoe just wasn't comfortable to me.
By barbk from Minnesota on 01/31/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable Cons: A little slippery on ice Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I did order 1/2 size up and they're perfect. Nice ankle support without too much padding. Supportive foot bed. Can snug-up the toe area with lacing. The pull-on loop is designed not to catch the hem of your pants. Good in snow but not on ice.
Does the trick and looks smart By Ri from Los Angeles on 01/16/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these shoes for a 2 wk trip to Peru. These shoes are light and classy enough to walk around town but beefy enough to scale the back peak at Machu Picchu. It started to drizzle on the heavier side on the first day and I felt a little seepage but since I could go back to the hotel, it was no big deal - it may be a problem if you need a waterproof shoe. At [$] bucks, a great buy for a day hiker.
