By D from Saltville, VA on 11/25/2008 Pros: Easy to adjust, Good grips, Lightweight, Strong Best Uses: Backpacking, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've own two of these and they both are still operable even after many miles and several replacement tips. I took a fall, and without the pole, would have had a terrible landing. It bent, but straightened out well and the shock feature still works. I weigh 250 and carry a lot of pack weight and this walking stick is the lightest I can use sturdy enough to take the strain. Great value and product.
Does What It's Supposed To Do By KC2 from South Carolina on 11/25/2008 Pros: Easy to adjust, Good grips, Lightweight, Strong Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've used Komperdell anti-shock poles for years with no complaints - lightweight, strong, easily adjustable and durable. The Komperdell camera-mount pole is no different. The grip, though traditional rather than ergonomic, is comfortable; the pole is sturdy enough to steady my 150 mm macro lens; and camera-mount screw is well-fitted.
By gearhead from Chi-town on 11/07/2008 Pros: Easy to adjust, Good grips, Strong Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Sure, it would be five stars if it collapsed to about 4 inches shorter. Of course it could be lighter. But truthfully, I found it stable, reliable, strong and yep..saved the weight of a tri-pod on my day hikes. Really comes in handy for attempting the longer lens photos needed in the mountains. Wound up getting a second one to pair up. I loan it to my hiking pals when we stop.

By swisshiker from Asheville NC on 08/06/2008 Best Uses: Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Would like for it to be telescopic so it would fit into asmaller suitcase up and down. It will fit in diagonally but that takes up more room. Otherwise it suits my needs. Another comment would be to have one that had more of a cane-type handle that would be removed and the camera added to the screwbase. It is something I have been looking for.
