I'm a musician (pedal steel guitar) and I need a nice-looking hat when I play at outdoor events. I like the look of this hat with its tall 6" crown (under 5" is common). I know my hat size (7 3/8) and this one felt like 7 1/2 at least. But I cut some felt from an old hat that I could lay around inside the crown under the sweatband, and then I wet down the area and pushed the hat down on a hat-blocking thing I made. Now that it has dried, it fits and looks just fine, though I haven't worn it in action yet.
