Took this on a self-contained bicycle trip. Coped with a terrible wind/rain storm. Tent did well. Room inside for four panniers and me. Recommend seam tape sealing the fly just in case.

Best Tent Ever

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Sierra Designs has always made phenomenal tents and this one is no exception. Somehow they have made it extremely light, and yet roomy and comfortable, with no scrimpy on details. As an often solo adventurer, it is nice to have a real tent, as opposed to the coffin-like sacks that pass for single person tents. Also, the best products I own have been "Backpacker Magazine Editor's Award" which this one won in 2004. Don't worry, it is not dated in the lease.

Good tent

Cons:
Too Cramped
Best Uses:
Backpacking

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Tent is well made. Seams are good, no real quality issues. very light, especially if you just use the footprint. I have had this tent in hot weather, cold (cold for Texas) weather, dry and wet, and I have never had a problem. I had this tent in 60 mph wind gusts, and it held up extremely well. During that wind storm, the neighboring tent poles shattered (collapsing on my friends...kinda funny actually)....just make sure you have the stakes securely in the ground and you shouldn't have a problem. I have had this tent in torential rain for hours and it has not leaked. The only issue I have had was a small amount of moisture (condensation) in the morning on 2 occasions....I think a tarp or maybe the footprint might help out....will try on this months trip. I guess there is one more thing, it is a little small, I wish it was about 3" longer. Overall, a great tent, worth every penny.

Comments:
This tent is a go anywhere necessity for short overnights, longer camping trips, cross-country road trips, you name it. Anytime the need for pitching a tent is in your path, this is a quick pitch, comfortable for two regular-size people. Not room in the tent for a lot of gear, but enough for your backpacks and a few extras. Nice sized windows for star gazing. I would recomomend a ground tarp and a few extra stakes for wet or windy weather. A great tent!
