this top has a very strange fit. i have a size large and the arms are uncomfortably tight (and my arms are far from wide) and it bunches up round the waist (and i don't have a short torso)... so maybe if you have really thin arms and a huge long torso this is the cold weather training top for you. i really couldn't comment on its waterproof/cold properties because i'm sending it back.
