The red is very rich & deeper in shade than the picture may convey. I like hats & these are a nice addition to my collection. They will be great for autumn/winter/early spring wear; being wool, they are too warm for summer unless it is a cool, damp day. The feathers are a nice touch, but feathers are prone to damage. However, it looks as if one could cut any broken/damaged feathers off without compromising the hat's style, so enjoy them while they last.

I'll probably tack a band on the inside to keep it from riding too low. The ornamentation is attractive, and could easily be pruned by anyone overwhelmed by the feathers.
It's quite a bargain.
